Privacy policy
The Boerboel Breeders Association (“BBA”, “we”) runs this website and the BBA registry at registry.boerboelbreedersassociation.com. This page explains what personal data we keep, why, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
Boerboel Breeders Association, Portugal. Contact: info@boerboelbreedersassociation.com.
What we keep and why
- Membership applications (name, email, kennel name, country, phone, website, address, message): to assess and process your application.
- Member accounts (name, email, password stored encrypted): to give you access to the registry.
- Kennel pages: only the details a breeder chooses to publish, after giving explicit consent in the registry. Phone and street address are private unless the breeder opts in. Consent can be withdrawn at any time; the page then goes offline.
- Dog records and pedigrees: dog data, breeder and kennel names. Owners’ names are not shown on public pedigree pages.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store card details; we keep the payment status and amounts.
- Contact requests to breeders (name, email, country, message): sent to the breeder you contacted and kept so the breeder and the BBA can handle your request. We keep a one-way code of your IP address only to limit spam.
- Emails (password links, confirmations, contact requests) are sent through our website mail service and, in future, our customer management platform.
Legal basis
Contract (membership and registrations), consent (public kennel pages), and legitimate interest (registry integrity, security and spam prevention).
How long
Membership and registration data are kept while you are a member and as long as needed for the registry’s pedigree records and legal obligations. Contact requests are kept for up to 2 years.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent, by writing to info@boerboelbreedersassociation.com. You may also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD).
