How the BBA
works for you.

Registration, certification, the app and the community — explained in one video.

01 / JOIN

Become a member.

Apply online with your kennel name and a short description of your breeding programme. Admission is selective, but it is not about kennel size or country. We look for breeders who share the standard. Once approved, your kennel gets its own affix, its own login and its own public page on the BBA registry.

02 / REGISTER

Register your dogs and litters.

Register your breeding dogs with their existing pedigrees, microchip number and, where available, DNA profile. When a litter is born, register it online: every puppy is linked automatically to its sire and dam and receives a White pedigree with a four-generation lineage and a QR code for verification. Dogs from other registries can be added with their existing papers; the BBA does not require you to leave any registry you already use.

03 / EVALUATE

Present your dogs for evaluation.

From 12 months of age (18 months recommended), a dog can be presented to a BBA judge for a conformation evaluation and a basic temperament assessment. The judge completes a full evaluation sheet, area by area: head, front, rear, topline, movement, condition and temperament. Each area is scored and the result is a percentage. The breeder receives the complete sheet; the pedigree shows the final score.

A dog that reaches the minimum score is approved for breeding and receives the Gold level. Evaluations are held at BBA events and, by arrangement, at the breeder’s location or by a BBA judge in your region. Dogs can also be appraised by video, with no need to travel.

04 / PROVE

The working test.

A Gold dog can be presented for the BBA working test. The test is demanding by design. The dog must show courage and active defence of its handler or territory under real pressure, and remain stable and neutral towards strangers when there is no threat. A dog that is reactive without reason does not pass. There is no score in the working test: a dog passes or it does not.

A dog that passes receives the Black Premium pedigree and the W mark next to its name on every pedigree where it appears, as sire, dam or ancestor. This is how the BBA tracks proven working lines through the generations.

05 / VERIFY

Anyone can verify.

Every BBA certificate carries a QR code. Scanning it opens the dog’s public record: registration number, lineage, certification level and the W marks in its pedigree. Buyers, breeders and judges anywhere in the world can confirm a BBA pedigree in seconds.
